Tool & Die Maintenance

Tool and die maintenance is vital to the consistency and longevity of any pressing operation. At Taylor Pressform, we offer in-house support for the routine maintenance, inspection, and modification of your tooling, ensuring minimal downtime and high repeatability across production runs.
While we don’t manufacture tooling in-house, we work closely with trusted UK-based toolmakers and can help coordinate new tool builds, refurbishments, or adaptations to meet your project goals. For existing tools, we perform checks and minor adjustments as part of our service offering, helping to protect your investment and maximise tool lifespan.

We commonly maintain:

  • Progressive tools
  • Stage tooling
  • Forming dies
  • Piercing and blanking tools
Our experienced team can identify wear or damage early, make necessary repairs, and recommend when more extensive refurbishment work may be needed. This proactive approach ensures your tooling continues to deliver clean, accurate parts, reducing rework and scrap.
  • Common services include:
    Cleaning and reassembly
  • Tool alignment checks
  • Adjustments for dimensional drift
  • Lubrication and wear part replacement
  • Compatibility testing with press setups

We also support projects that involve adapting existing tooling for new components. If you’re developing a variant of a previously produced part, we can often modify the tool (where possible) to suit new specifications, avoiding the cost and lead time of building a new tool entirely.

As part of our ISO 9001-certified operations, we record maintenance activity and monitor tool performance to ensure your presswork remains consistent and reliable over time.

When you choose Taylor Pressform, you’re not just getting a press shop—you’re getting a partner that actively protects your tooling assets and helps you maintain the integrity of your production line.
