Prototyping

Prototyping is an essential service at Taylor Pressform, designed for customers in the early stages of product development or those trialling new designs before moving to production. Our prototyping solutions are practical, precise, and cost-effective, ideal for testing fit, function, and manufacturability before committing to full-scale tooling.
We support both one-off prototypes and small development batches using your existing tooling or through collaboration with local toolmakers to develop prototype tools. Our presses, ranging from 20 to 600 tonnes, allow us to simulate actual production conditions to ensure your part performs as expected in real-world applications.

We typically work with:

Mild steel (≤3 mm)
Aluminium (≤1.5 mm)
Stainless steel (≤1.2 mm)

Wether you’re from the automotive sectorappliance manufacturingboiler systems, or yellow goods industries, our team will work closely with your engineers to ensure your prototype is not only dimensionally accurate, but also suited for production scaling.

We can produce:

  • Formed metal test pieces
  • Tooling trials and first-offs
  • Prototype assemblies
  • Samples for stakeholder approval

Because our setup is operated by skilled technicians, we can make fast adjustments and run test iterations without major downtime or excessive cost. This agility is especially valuable during the design validation and pre-production stages.

We understand that prototyping requires a fast turnaround, clear communication, and engineering input. That’s why we aim to quote all enquiries within 48 hours and provide realistic lead times based on part complexity.

Let us help bring your concept to life with prototypes that lay the foundation for successful production.
